Welcoming Congregation Committee

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Miami became an official Welcoming Congregation in 2008 after completing a process designed to educate our members in matters regarding sexual orientation and gender identity.  The intent of this series of facilitated workshops and discussions was to help us to better understand and provide an authentic welcome to our gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer-questioning community.

Through programs offered by the Welcoming Congregation Committee, the congregation continues to deepen it understanding and commitment to this ministry.

In addition, the congregation’s Interweave chapter is a social group that is intended to make Miami’s LGBTQ Community and their straight allies feel comfortable as they engage in discussions and other social events.
